Background Information

Discover a unique opportunity to invest in one of the world’s wildlife wonders, and home to one of Sir David Attenborough’s ’10 greatest TV moments’

The opportunity

This amazing destination has enormous potential for those looking to explore one of the rare gems of this planet. World-class diving, fantastic bird watching and the land crab populations are part of what makes Christmas Island National Park a unique wildlife attraction.

The extraordinary natural assets of the island offer significant benefits for adventurous operators. A rare chance to establish eco-tourist accommodation or other visitor experiences within the national park itself is on offer.

Your ideas should highlight the park’s natural wonders while promoting economic opportunities for the island.

Christmas Island National Park is calling for Expressions of Interest for fresh, exciting and engaging visitor experiences and/or commercial activities that complement existing operations, conserve the park's environmental values and provide an unforgettable experience.

A panel will assess the submissions received with successful applicants being offered a licence or sublease to operate in the park.
